The Example of Moses — God is completely in control, and we are not
The Example of Pharaoh — God’s sovereign choices always involve His mercy
God’s Way is always better (vv.19-29)
God’s Absolute Sovereignty — God can do whatever He pleases. He answers to no one for what He does and He has no obligation to explain to anyone the reasons for His actions
Hosea and Gomer— the Jews rejection of Christ had been predicted beforehand. God used the Jews hard heart to bring about a greater redemption story to invite the Gentiles into it.
God chose to make people who were once excluded His very own (vv.27-29) The amazing thing is not that God fails to extend His mercy to everybody, but that He extends it to anybody.
